DoorDash is adding Macy’s, Anthropologie and VF Corp. brands to its retail marketplace, offering one-hour delivery from local stores plus a $7.99 returns pickup. For brands, it turns stores into fulfillment hubs and delivers new customers, but moves discovery and customer data onto DoorDash’s platform.

DoorDash is expanding its retail marketplace by partnering with major fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands including Macy’s, Anthropologie and VF Corp. staples The North Face, Vans and Timberland. This move reinforces the delivery platform’s strategy to turn local brick-and-mortar stores into ultra-fast fulfillment hubs for non-food categories.

For retailers and brands, the move signals an evolution in fulfillment and logistics.

What Does the Doordash Marketplace Expansion Mean for Brands?

Under the new agreements, consumers can order thousands of products for doorstep delivery in as fast as one hour through the DoorDash app. Macy’s offers nationwide inventory across more than 350 locations, building on a relationship that began in 2020 via DoorDash’s white-label Drive On-Demand service. Anthropologie adds selection from over 220 design-led locations, while VF Corp. expands its reach across more than 350 retail doors offering popular outerwear, boots, and casual footwear.

To address a persistent friction point in online retail, DoorDash is rolling out Dasher Returns. This feature lets shoppers schedule return pickups from home for a flat fee of $7.99. Couriers can arrive in as little as 30 minutes to pick up eligible orders without customers needing to pack boxes or print shipping labels. The service is live in select markets and will expand nationwide this November.

The expansion builds on previous additions to the platform earlier this year, including Gap, Kohl’s, SKIMS, Barnes & Noble, and Costco. DoorDash said more than half of the NRF Top 100 Retailers now partner with its marketplace.

Stores to Fulfillment Centers

For retail operators, the shift from traditional e-commerce logistics to local fulfillment channels is a major operational evolution. Instead of relying solely on regional distribution centers far away, merchants can monetize existing retail footprints by turning physical stores into immediate fulfillment centers. This approach optimizes inventory on shelves and dramatically reduces delivery times.

The platform addition also drives customer acquisition. DoorDash’s internal data shows that up to 90% of first-time shoppers buying from a retailer through the app are net-new customers for that brand. This lets brick-and-mortar retailers tap into an active, digital-first consumer base without heavy marketing spend.

From a brand management perspective, integrating analytics platforms like DoorDash’s Brand Center gives merchants visibility into real-time store inventory and customer substitution choices when items are out of stock. Combined with frictionless reverse logistics, brands gain a tool that reduces customer hesitation at checkout, protects sell-through margins, and returns restorable merchandise to local retail shelves in days rather than weeks.
